Camp Cards are back by popular demand!

Greetings Troop 1657,

It’s that time again…. Camp Cards are officially back by popular demand! The purpose of this fundraiser allows patrols to generate funds for their overall “scouting experience”. A camp card is a value/discount card that features coupon deals for local and national businesses in and around the greater Washington, DC area. On the back of each card are 10 reusable discounts, valid for eleven months from February 1, 2018 – December 31, 2018. In addition to the reusable coupons, each card is outfitted with two one-time use, “break off” coupons. Each card is sold for $5.00 and provides the customer with no less than $100.00 in everyday savings.

Why is this fundraiser so important? We are glad you asked! This fundraiser allows patrols to sell as many camp cards as possible between March 2, 2018 to May 4, 2018. Most importantly, patrols earn 50% of every sell. See example below:

Patrol A sells 200 Camp Cards at $5.00 each (200 x $5 = $1,000) The patrol earns $500.00 for their “scouting experience”, which includes but is not limited to fees for summer camp, high adventure, Philmont or any other scout outing organized by the troop.

While this is a no risk obligation fundraisers, scout parents and/or ASMs are responsible for any damaged or lost camp cards that are in their possession. Scouts/Parents/ASMs may return any unsold cards to their Lead AMS. To get started please see your patrol’s Lead ASM, to receive your camp cards and to get the ball rolling for each patrol. Each patrol’s Lead ASM may request additional camp cards from the Troop.
