Founded in 1982 and chartered by First Baptist Church of Glenarden, Troop 1657 is dedicated to developing young men of character, faith, and citizenship through the values and traditions of Scouting America. As a youth-led troop, we empower Scouts to plan, lead, and carry out their own program while benefiting from the guidance, mentorship, and support of well-trained adult leaders.
Our Mission
Our mission is to develop the character, strengthen the faith, and foster the citizenship of every Scout through youth leadership, peer mentorship, adult guidance, service, challenge, personal growth, and outdoor adventure. Through collaboration between Scouts and dedicated adult leaders, we create opportunities for young men to build confidence, demonstrate leadership, serve others, and grow into responsible citizens.
At the heart of Troop 1657 is the belief that Scouting is more than a program—it is a way of life. We are committed to building better men, grounded in timeless values, strengthened by faith, and inspired to lead with integrity and purpose throughout their lives.
Troop meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month, 7:00 - 9:00pm,
at 600 Watkins Park Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774.
