Safeguarding Youth training is required for all Scouting America registered volunteers and is a joining requirement.
Scouting America takes great pride in the quality of our adult leadership. Being a leader in Scouting America is a privilege, not a right. The quality of the program and the safety of our youth members call for high-quality adult leaders.
Youth Protection Training (YPT) has been replaced by the new Safeguarding Youth Training. This training is required for all Scouting America registered volunteers and is a joining requirement.
https://www.scouting.org/training/youth-protection/
True youth protection takes all of us. At Troop 1657, we’re proud that 100% of our Adult Leaders have completed Scouting America’s Safeguarding Youth Training (formerly known as Youth Protection Training or YPT). This training ensures every leader is prepared to keep our Scouts safe.
We invite all families to join us in this commitment. All parents are required to complete the training. You don’t have to be a registered member to take the training—just visit My.Scouting.org to create an account.
Complete the Safeguarding Youth Training.
Wait for your certificate to generate after completion.
Print your certificate.
Bring the printed certificate to the next meeting.
Your participation helps ensure a safe and supportive environment for all of our youth. Thank you for your prompt attention to this important requirement!
Together, we can build a culture of awareness and safety for every Scout.
